Describe the Zajonc model?

A
  • There are 4 types of others in sport.
  • Competitors and social reinforcers (non passive)
  • Audience and co actors (passive)
  • Passive others cause an increase in arousal and an increased drive.
  • The probability of dominant response is facilitated if it is an expert performer or a simple task, however it is inhibited if it is a novice or a complex task.
