What lights can be used when there is no AC power?

A

FO’s dome light is powered directly from the aircraft batteries and can be used when there is no AC power to the airplane.

Only the Captain’s side of flood lights operate in the emergency electrical or battery-only configuration.

When will the SEAT BELTS switch illuminate the signs in AUTO mode?

A

In the AUTO position, the SEAT BELTS switch will illuminate the signs when either the landing gear is extended, or the flaps/slats have been extended.

In the event of excessive cabin altitude, the seat belt signs illuminate regardless of the position of the SEAT BELTS switch.

What is the backup source of cabin illumination?

A

The overhead emergency lights provide a backup source of cabin illumination when AC Bus 1 is unpowered. Powered by DC ESS SHED Bus or dedicated battery packs for up to 12 minutes.

Battery packs charged when:
* EMER EXIT LT switch is not ON
* The EMER pb on the FAP is not pressed
