A benign tumor is not cancerous. The cells stay in one place.
Large tumors can affect tissues/organs and affect their function.

A malignant tumor is cancerous. The cells can destroy/interfere with the function of surrounding tissue.

A
Metastasis occurs when cancer cells break away from the primary tumor and travel to other parts of the body, causing a secondary tumor.
