Why was there a Second National Government?
Tories called for a general election and won in a landslide victory in favour of Tory party and National Government.
Ramsay MacDonald stayed PM
Labour suffered the greatest defeat.
What happened to the Liberal Party after the general election?
Liberal Party split into 3:
Liberal Party: Herbert Samuel, a vote for the liberal party was a vote to keep National Government in power.
Liberal National Party: National Government with protectionist policies
Independent Liberal Party: In power
What happened to the Labour party after the general election?
Split into two:
National Labour party: Ramsay and National Government
Labour party: Vote for a labour government
