Q

which are the standardized port ranges?

A

(These Ports were set up by IANA)

  1. Well-Known ports - 0 - 1,023
(Most used ports in the network today, easy to identify)
  2. Registered Port ranges - 1024 - 49,151
(Organizations use this range, this range is used by a dew)
  3. Dynamic Ports - 49,512 - 65,535
(Temporary ports, These will be used for communications, but then once that communication is done, the computer will generate other dynamic port for outbound communication as well)
