tendon rupture/tendinitis
do not take with antacid, dairy product(calcium) or iron
photosensitive

ciprofloxacin can increase theophylline and warfarin

check blood glucose for diabetic patient
peripheral neuropathy

FLOXACINS

A

F fluid intake ( to prevent crystalluria) take with 8 oz of water
2 liters per day. moniter urinary output.
L. Long QT interval risk increase if taking with other drug such amiodarone
moniter ECG ( normal 5 to 10000)
O. Older are risk for tendon rupture
X don’t administer with med contain calcium, zinc, iron magnesium, aluminum(antacid &vitamin). don’t give with dairy product such milk, yogurt, cheese can decrease absorbsion fluoroquinolones.
- administer quinolones 2 hour before or after meal.
- administer oral quinolones 6 hours after administer aftermadminsitering antacid or vitamin
- administer 2 hours before antacid
A Avoid quinolones in children and pregnancy.
C. c. diff
I. interaction with other drug such caffeine, phenytoin, warfarin, theophylline, antiarrhythmic (Amiodarone).
N. Neuromuscular exacerbation :
- myasthenia gravid cloud become worse
- monitor for muscle weakness.
