what’s a producer

A

an organism that absorbs light energy and produces glucose by photosynthesis (plants)

Q

what’s a primary consumer

A

6
Q

explain the water cycle step by step

A

evaporation- water turned to water vapour by the heat forming warm moist air
condensation- moist air rises and cools, water vapour condenses to a liquid forming clouds
precipitation- water droplets in clouds get heavier and fall
percolation- water tickles through caps in soil or rocks and travel back to a water source
surface run off- if the earth is too saturated or too dry water can run off back to the water source
drank- by plants or animals
lost via transpiration or respiration

8
Q

why is there a limit to how long food chains can be

A

there is alot of energy lost in transfers between trophic levels so there isn’t enough to sustain more then usually 5 levels

9
Q

how is biomass lost between trophic levels

A

respiration
secretion
if not all of the last animal/plant was eaten (bones)
