What is psychosocial therapy?

A

Therapy designed to supports clients with:
*symptoms
*reintegration back into society
*improve functioning
*quality of life
Combining ‘psycho’ (psychological state, function and behaviour) with ‘social’ ability to relate to others to function in a society

What are CBTp exlusion criteria?

A
  1. When the client is to unwell and requires inpatient admission
  2. When the client has a substance misuse problem (which doesn’t allow them to benefit from or attend the sessions)
  3. When they had a head injury- need for neurological evaluation first
  4. When psychosis is not the main issues (e.g. they have PTSD, Depression which are more distressing)
  5. If the client has no therepeutic goals
