Data Loader

A

-can be used via user interface or command line
1. User interface—Specify configuration parameters and CSV files used for import and export, and define field mappings that map field names in your import file to field names in Salesforce.
2. Command line (Windows only)—Specify the configuration, data sources, mappings, and actions in files. The command line enables you to set up Data Loader for automated processing.

A

Running User for Dashboard

A

-running user can be changed on dashboard view page by authorized users
-running user’s security settings will determine data that is displayed
-user with “View All Data” permission can choose any user in the org to be a running user of the dashboard
-user with “View My Team’s Dashboards’” perm can choose any user below them in the role hierarchy
-if a user drills down into a source report, they will only see data they have access to and not the data that the running user can access

Dashboard Components

A

-possible to link from a dashboard component to another website or SF record by specifying the value of “Custom Link” in component’s settings
-source report chart can also be used in a dashboard component
-report can be added to new or existing dashboard from dropdown menu of report
-not possible to join two dashboard components together
-Lightning Table component can be used to display tabular info – up to 200 records and 10 columns can be displayed ; can only add up to 2 groups
-max of 20 dashboard components added to single dashboard

Dynamic Dashboards

A

-enable each user to see a personalized view of the dashboard data using only data they have access to
-must be refreshed manually
-does not allow users to customize the dashboards
-source reports used in dynamic dashboards do not change depending on the user - only the data varies according to their access level

IDs in SF

A

-record ID will never change (even if deleted and restored)
-15 character ID is case sensitive (can be found in report)
-18 character ID is not case sensitive (Data Loader and Data Export return 18 digit and shown in web browser)
