Creamy/white flowers that appear on panicles

A

Contact a specialist.

It needs to be disposed of legally such as using chemical treatment, digging it out and removing it from the site to a licensed landfill site in accordance with Environmental Protection Act 1990.

A

Yes RICS Japanese Knotweed and residential property January 2022 (wef March 2022).

This provides guidelines to follow both onsite and off site as well as the considerations for valuations/surveys.

What type of damp did you uncover in Weaverham?

A

I believe this was penetrating damp.
This is the process of moisture moving from exterior to interior which would make sense given this was son the gable end wall.

A

Used to assess the moisture in a wide range of building materials including wood, masonry, drywall, plaster and concrete.

  1. Walk the property externally look at condition, shape, size, age etc
  2. Internally work from upper floors down working from any plans I may have
  3. Walk the roads and make note of the neighbouring units

Have you heard of a theodolite and if so how does it work?

A

An optical instrument consisting of a small mounted telescope rotatable in horizontal and vertical planes, used to measure angles.

Consists of a spirit level and crosshairs in the telescope to ensure accurate alignment.

What precautions would you take if you were surveying a flat roof with a step ladder on your own?

A

Prepare RAMs
Consider the roof condition
Ensure step ladder is placed approx. 70 degrees and tall enough that the top four rungs don’t need to be used.

What is Radon Gas?

A

Produced during the decay of Radium which occurs naturally through the presence of uranium in most rocks, soil, bricks and concrete.

A

Disperses externally. Internally, it may potentially build up to harmful levels.

A

Ensures the property is properly maintained.
