what is the queens council?
- after 10 years of being a barrister or solicitor with an advocacy qualification, its possible to apply to become a queens council, which usually takes on more high profile cases
what are legal executives?
they work in solicitors’ firms as assistants. they are qualified lawyers who have passed the institute of legal executives’ professional qualification and specialise in a particular area of law.
role of legal executives?
- handle various legal aspects of a property transfer
- assist in the formation of the company
- draft wills
- advise people with matrimonial problems
- advise clients accused of serious or petty crime
when do legal executives have right in audience?
where the case is no defended in family matters and civil cases in the county court.
what allows legal executives to make an application for bail or deal with cases in the youth court o family court?
three different practicing certificates:
- civil proceedings certificate
- criminal proceedings certificate
- family proceedings certificate
