Q

orbitofrontal cortex

A

Changes in social functioning are common in patients with acquired lesions to their orbitofrontal cortex, which include trauma, stroke or surgery, and neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson’s or dementia. People with orbitofrontal damage may also demonstrate cognitive control deficits that affect social behavior, but they may also lack insight into these changes and their inappropriate social conduct.
