When performing CPR would place the rescuers at risk, patient presentation incompatible with life, and a valid Advanced Directive or DNR order is present

Rigor mortis, decapitation, bodily transection, dependent lividity, body decomposition
When should you contact OLMD immediately to discuss non-initiation and to pronounce time of death?
injuries incompatible with life, death is a predictable outcome based upon the patient’s injury blunt/penetrating trauma with evidence of prolonged cardiac arrest, patient with penetrating trauma absent signs of life, airway intact, found to be in asystole, patient in cardiac arrest secondary to blunt trauma with no organized cardiac rhythm.
What do you do with stillborn deliveries?
All fetal tissues/remains must be transported with mother and place in biohazard bag or allow mother to hold, if requested.
What must you document?
Time of death and name of OLMD, absent heart sounds, and indiation for non-initiation.

When should resuscitation not be terminated for pregnant women?
With a viable fetus (>20 weeks gestation; uterine fundus palpable at the umbilicus)
What is the criteria for BLS termination of resuscitation?
unwitnessed arrest, patient is greater than 18 years old, arrest is not related to hypothermia but possible drug overdose or possible carbon monoxide or cyanide toxicity, airway has been effectively managed, at least 20 minutes o high-quality CPR have been performed, 3 AED analyses have been performed without shock advised, EtCO2 value is <10mmHg despite effective CPR, and medical direction approves termination of resuscitation.
What is the criteria for ALS termination of resuscitation?
All BLS criteria and presenting rhythm was asystole or PEA, rhythm has remained asystole or PEA throughout the resuscitation, and failure.
What criteria must b met for patients with traumatic arrest?
Patient is >18 yo, 20 minutes of high-quality CPR without ROSC, Emergency Department/Trauma Center is >20 minutes transport, bilateral needle decompression was performed by SL2+ personnel for patient with blunt/penetrating thoracic trauma without improvement in vital signs, and medical direction approves termination of resuscitation and pronounces time of death.
What must you document for field termination criteria?
Time of death and name of OLMD, absent pulse, absent heart sounds indications for field termination criteria, EMS must print rhythm, strips from at least 3 different leads indicating asystole.
