What is a withdrawal order from IC?
Non-emergent action taken to address a planned change in strategies or other factors.
What happens during a withdrawal?
Ordered by IC over the radio, followed by a PAR. All personnel leave immediately, take tools and hose.
What is an Abandoment order?
Emergency action undertaken in recognition of a situation that is immediately dangerous to personnel working in the operating area.
What happens during an abandonment?
Ordered by IC, safety officer, or div/group supervisor. Given over the radio and followed by three sets of three continuous horn blasts. Followed by PAR. All personnel leave immediately, only take tools/hose if does not hinder the abandonment.
What is evacuate?
Term used to define the removal of civilians to a safer location. Not for emergency responders.
