2
Q

simple linear regression

A

is a prediction when a variable (y) is dependent on a second variable (x) based on the regression equation of a given set of data.

Q

Chi-square test

A

used to compare expected data vs collected data

(o-e)^2/e

o = observed
e = expected

Q

Dot plot

A

A visual representation of data using intervals or categories of variables; the dots represent an observation in the data

Used to analyze frequency in a data distribution

13
Q

How to create a box plot

A

Box - inter-quartile range. Left line is lower quartile range and right line is upper. One in the middle is the median.

Dash on left is extreme minimum and dash on right is extreme maximum.

Line from extreme min to max is range.

Find all values then Draw box plot and fill in lines.

A

Based on chance. How you expect things to work or go without bay external factors.

16
Q

P-value

A

Probability of observing the desired statistic.

17
Q

Region of acceptance

A

Chosen range of values that results in the null hypothesis being stated as valid.

18
Q

Confidence interval

A

The amount of uncertainty a sample population estimate (mean or proportion) of a true population.

Formula - sample mean plus or minus margin of error

19
Q

Margin of error

A

The value used to calculate the upper and lower limit of the sample statistic.
