What is Queer Activism?
A
A form of sexuality/gender activism that opposes assimilationist agendas of trying to show how “normal” LGBT people are. It celebrates differences and diversity and challenges things like commercialism of the gay scene.

What is Queer Studies?
A
An academic discipline that tries to move beyond lesbian and gay studies to incorporate other sexualities and to take a more critical approach to sexuality as a whole. It also draws on things like sociology, geography, history, literature, cultural studies, and media studies.

A theoretical approach that goes beyond queer studies to question to categories and assumptions on which current popular and academic understanding are based.
