climate change Flashcards
Components of Earth’s climate system
Atmosphere, Hydrosphere, Lithosphere, Biosphere
air, water, ice, land, living things
Sources of methane gas
cattle waste, cattle digestion and excretion
List greenhouse gases (5)
- Water Vapour; H2O
- Carbon dioxide; CO2
- Methane; CH4
- Tropospheric ozone; O3
- nitrous oxide; N2O
Define anthropogenic
Changes caused and influenced by humans, directly or indirectly
list and describe two pieces of evidence that demonstrates Earth’s climate system is definitely changing
-the melting of glaciers, ice sheets and sea ice. this is leading to rising sea levels and as the water warms, the volume of water is expanding
- changes in severe weather. heat waves and hurricanes are becoming more lethal and they have become stronger due to warmer ocean temperatures.
-change in precipitation
