Chemistry #2 The Periodic Table 📓 Flashcards

1
Q

Okay, lets start this out with some singing… You don’t have to memorize this song I made but it will definitely help you!

A

Verse 1:
We start with Hydrogen, the first on the list
Atomic number one, it can’t be missed
Followed by Helium, with two electrons
It’s used in balloons and medical reasons

Chorus:
The periodic table, it’s a chemistry thing
Elements arranged, in a row and a ring
From Lithium to Lawrencium, we learn them all
Just remember their symbols, and you won’t fall

Verse 2:
Beryllium and Boron are next in line
Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Fluorine
Neon, Sodium, Magnesium, and Aluminum
These elements, they’ve got some serious class, son

Chorus:
The periodic table, it’s a chemistry thing
Elements arranged, in a row and a ring
From Lithium to Lawrencium, we learn them all
Just remember their symbols, and you won’t fall

Verse 3:
Silicon, Phosphorus, Sulfur, Chlorine
Argon, Potassium, Calcium, Scandium
Titanium, Vanadium, Chromium, Manganese
Iron, Cobalt, Nickel, Copper, Zinc, Gallium

Chorus:
The periodic table, it’s a chemistry thing
Elements arranged, in a row and a ring
From Lithium to Lawrencium, we learn them all
Just remember their symbols, and you won’t fall

Verse 4:
Germanium, Arsenic, Selenium, Bromine
Krypton, Rubidium, Strontium, Yttrium
Zirconium, Niobium, Molybdenum, Technetium
Ruthenium, Rhodium, Palladium, Silver, Cadmium

Chorus:
The periodic table, it’s a chemistry thing
Elements arranged, in a row and a ring
From Lithium to Lawrencium, we learn them all
Just remember their symbols, and you won’t fall

Verse 5:
Tin, Antimony, Tellurium, Iodine
Xenon, Cesium, Barium, Lanthanum
Cerium, Praseodymium, Neodymium, Promethium
Samarium, Europium, Gadolinium, Terbium

Chorus:
The periodic table, it’s a chemistry thing
Elements arranged, in a row and a ring
From Lithium! Yay!

Q

What is a group on the periodic table?

A

A group is a vertical column of elements that share similar properties. Think of it like a family reunion, but for chemical elements.

Q

What group on the periodic table contains the Noble Gases?

A

Group 18, also known as “The Party Group” because the Noble Gases don’t like to react with other elements and just hang out and have a good time.

Q

Fun Question: What element is responsible for making bananas radioactive?

A

Potassium, but don’t worry, you’d have to eat a lot of bananas to get even a tiny bit of radiation sickness. Plus, who doesn’t love a good banana split?

Q

Fun Question: What element is used to treat bipolar disorder?

A

Lithium, which is basically just a fancy way of saying “chill out, dude.”
