F2 - SEM2 - Force and motion - 11.2 Forces Flashcards

1
Q

How to represent a force in a diagram?

A

use arrow to represent a force in the diagram
the tail of the arrow at the point where the force is applied
the direction of the arrow represent the direction of the force
the size/length of the arrow show the size of the force

Q

What happen when we apply a force to an object?

A

the motion of the object is changed
change the speed of the object - from rest to move, speed up, slow down, and stop
change the direction of the object

the shape of the object can be changed - E.g. rubberband

Q

What happen if the forces acting on an object are balance?
