Savoie / Vin De Savoie AOC

Red: [P] Gamay, Mondeuse, Pinot Noir, (Department of Savoie also Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Persan), (Departement of Isere also Persan, Etraire de la Dui, Servanin, Joubertin)

The Regional Savoie AOC encompasses all of the vineyards of Savoie. The winens may utilize any of the authorized grapes and may be a varietal or blended product. If varietal, the wines must comrise 100% of the grape listed on the label.

White Savoie can be made from any of the white and rose varieties that are authorized, but is is most often made from Jacquere. Certain varieties are authorized only in specific areas.

Red and rose Savoie wines are primarily made from Gamay and/or Mondeuse, again with certain varieties authorized within specific areas.

Crement de Savoie is a style within the Savoie AOC for white sparkling only (authorized in 2016). It follows the same winemaking rules for cremant found all over France. Here, it must be made from a minimum of 40% Jacquere (with Jacquere and/or Altesse making up least 60% of the total). Up to 20% of the principal reds may be included (when vinified as white). The other primary white varieties are also authorized blending partnets.

Savoie Rose mousseux is a methode traditionnelle wine that can be made from the major red and white grapes.

There are 16 DGCs, also referred to as crus. The crus and theirs styles are listed in the appendix.

Roussette de Savoie AOC

Roussette de Savoie is a regional AOC crafted soley from Altesse.

There are 4 DGCs referred to as crus, which can append their name to Roussette de Savoie AOC

Seyssel AOC

Grape Varieties:
White: [P]Altesse, Chasselas, Molette

Seyssel is a small appellation for dry and sparkling wines. A dry white labeled as Seyssel is made only from Altesse. If it is labeled Seyssel olette, then it is 100% Molette. Sparkling Seyssel must be at least 75% Molette and at least 10% Altesse. Chasselas can complete the blend.
