dorian sees sibyl not as a human being but as a form of art that he likes to watch and be amazed by its beauty
james vanes desire for avenging his sister haunts dorian’s for years. his death puts dorian in a short lived panic
james vane is portrayed as one who only wants the best for his sister. he’s a character of justice and good nature, ironically misguiding him from killing dorian as he believes that dorian would look much older by now
james hunting dorian symbolizes dorian’s realization that destruction can work both ways: if he destroys someone, he can’t expect any less fro himself
