Why do you want to go to the USA?

A
  • It would be a great opportunity to get the best training possible and want to gain hands-on cultural experience according to my training plan I will be trained to learn supervisory and management techniques and principles of American hospitality management which would help me for my future career as an f&b manager.

Why would you like to go to the USA even though you have experience already?

A

I have no actual practical training experience which is why I chose to have my training in the USA to become a more qualified and flexible professional because of the advanced practical training.

  1. What are the differences between your previous experience to this internship/training?
A
  • The huge difference would be the diversity and field experience. Due to covid restrictions, we’ve only done our training virtually. So hopefully this training in the US will literally help me to grow out of my comfort zone. It would be a great opportunity to further enhance my social and cultural skills especially working in diverse workplace.

  • I have a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management. I also completed two trainings. One is from BarCIE International Center and the other one is from Worldwide Internship Philippines which is now called as Ediphi.

  • Since I’m waiting for the processing of my internship. I’m currently helping to my cousin’s baking business. I help her in managing and packaging all her baked goods.

  • The Worldwide Internship Philippines which is now called as Ediphi. There agency partners with our university for our practicum so I trust them as well in helping me for applying the J1 internship program.

  • My Mother would pay for my expenses. She is an Administration purser-payrol and earning $28,800 per year

I’ll be having my internship training at Hyatt Lost Pines Resort and spa. I believe my summer will be covering my phase 2 learning the food and beverage fundamentals.

  • No, I haven’t been to USA before

  1. What is your favorite phase (of the training plan)?
A

It would be Phase 3-Outlets Operation where I will be trained in front and back of house operations and will experience all positions within the department for a comprehensive understanding of the operational requirements of the outlets.

A
  • Supervisory and management techniques and principles of American hospitality management. Gain an understanding of management techniques and principles of the hospitality industry, specifically within the food and beverage department.

A
  • When I return back to the Philippines, I’ll be applying to one of the top hotels here like Hyatt or Aman Resort with the experiences and skills that I will gain from this program I know it will help me become more effective and more qualified to be part of the food and beverage department as a f&b manager.

  1. What are your travel plans in the USA?
A
  • According to my training plan the host company will be guiding us to join cultural activites and explore on nearby attractions to visit during the program such as the Bastrop State Park, and Historic Sixth Street. Take a day trip to Austin, Texas, and McKinney Roughs Nature Park and experience the area’s historic districts, shopping, wineries, trails, and much more.

  • Yes, I have a stipend of $15 per hour with training of 40hrs per week
