fingers palpating lifts up from forced movement;
sign of enlarged heart such as aortic stenosis or hypertension
heave pulse
fingers feel rolling sensation upon palpation;
sign of enlarged heart; if right ventricle can indicate right ventricular hypertrophy
thrill pulse
4 finger palpation can feel turbulent blood flow;
abnormal blood flow such as murmur or septal defect
a pulse deficit could indicate what
pulse deficit is the difference between apical and peripheral pulse; could indicate cardiac dysrhythmia
a bruit over the carotid artery could indicate what
artery stenosis or plaque formation
