Q

Introduction

A

William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, a widely acclaimed tragedy performed in the 16th century, depicts the immense struggle of the eponymous Prince of Denmark as he seeks revenge for the death of his father. An apparition in the shape of the late King is the inception of Hamlet’s battle with his self-perception as he begins to find himself is incapable of fulfilling its orders . By setting him on the path of revenge, the Ghost causes Hamlet to perceive himself as a weak character. This becomes evident as he excoriates his alleged femininity, criticises his procrastination, and condemns himself as a tool of fate throughout the trials and tribulations of the play.
