A pilgrimage is a part of a person’s spiritual journey.

Lourdes, Jerusalem and Rome.

What caused Lourdes to become a place of pilgrimage?
A
From a 14 year old girl having visions from God and the site where she had these visions the water is believed to have healing powers.

Why is Jerusalem a significant place for Christians?
A
This is where Jesus lives towards the end of his life and it is where he was crucified and buried and seen after his resurrection. Jerusalem also has the ‘way of the sorrows’ which is believed to be the route Jesus took when he travelled to his Crucifixion.
