MRCP detail Flashcards
Which arteries branch off the L coronary artery and the R coronary artery and what areas do they supply?
L coronary arises from above the posterior aortic cusp.
L coronary gives rise to 1) L anterior descending artery (supplies majority of the anterior left ventricle) 2) Circumflex artery (supplies postero-lateral left ventricle).
R coronary gives rise to 1) Posterior interventricular artery which supples the interventricular septum.
BNP is normal in which cardiac event?
unstable angina
What test is done after an MI for risk stratification?
Exercise test. If positive, next step is to refer for coronary angiography to see if prognostic disease that needs coronary artery bypass grafting.
Risk of sudden cardiac death in an asymptomatic patient with severe aortic stenosis with gradient 85mmHg?
Less than 5%.
Risk is LOW so you monitor them until they develop symptoms.
When symptomatic - TAVI. (transcatheter aortic valve replacement)
Normal QRS and PR interval duration?
QRS complex <100ms
PR interval <200ms
