  • Placental abruption
    • Painful, dark bleeding
    • Bleeding may be absent (concealed abruption)
  • Placenta praevia
    • Painless, red bleeding
  • Other
    • Incidental genital tract pathology
      • Infection
      • Trauma
      • Tumour
    • Vasa praevia
    • Uterine rupture
      • Multiple pregnancy
      • Previous Caesarean
      • Shoulder dystocia
