A set of decisions and non decisions taken by those responsible for a particular policy area
Define public policy
The course of action or inaction taken by the government with regard to a particular issue
Define health policy
Concerns health and strategies to improve health services
Contents of Public Policy

Objective: aims and goals of the policy
Strategies: How to achieve the goals
Programmes: a particular activity that is going to be implemented
Finance: cost incurred of achieving the objectives

DISTRIBUTIVE POLICY: Allocation of services to particular groups of the segment e.g Tax…fiscal policy
REDISTRIBUTIVE POLICY: Involves efforts by the government to shift allocation of wealth …income and property e.g the haves and have nots …civil rights policy… immigration policy
REGULATORY POLICY: The regulation and control of activities or behaviors e.g consumer protection policy
CONSTITUENT POLICY: Issues are those concerned with the setting up of re organisation of institutions.
