Q

what is electric potential energy

A

When two positive charge are brought close they repel each other. The energy takes to bring a charge from infinity away to a distance of r away from the source.

E = Qq/(4𝝿ε0r)

from integrating force with respect to dr from r to infinity

opposite if two charge have different sign
