A

Primary survey injuries
Semiconscious / unconscious.
Who are in obvious difficulty breathing or bleeding.

Minor injuries

A

Secondary survey injuries.
Head to toe check for injuries. Stop any bleeding.
Protect open wounds.
Immobilise any bone fractures in some form of splint.
Severe fractures may require re setting - help preserve blood vessels and nerves within limb.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR ABC

A

Airways - ensure clear throat
Breathing - listen nose and mouth for breathing, observe chest. If no breathing, mouth to mouth breath every 3 to 5 seconds.
Circulation - Check windpipe circulation. If no pulse, CPR compressions once every 1.5 seconds upper chest/breast bone.
