1
Q

State the meaning of Sensible Heat

Q

State the meaning of Enthalpy of evaporation/ fusion.

A

Evaporation - The amount of heat energy required to change a unit mass of a substance from a liquid to a gas phase at a constant temperature and pressure.

Fusion - The amount of heat energy required to change a unit mass of a substance from a solid to a liquid phase at its melting/freezing point while maintaining a constant temperature and pressure.

Q

State the difference between latent heat and sensible heat

A

The key difference is that sensible heat is associated with temperature changes, while latent heat is associated with phase changes at constant temperature.
