Hypothesis
Difference between non experimental hypothesis and the experimental hypothesis?
Non experimental hypothesis - statement of your predictions about the association between the variables
Experimental hypothesis- predicts the effects of specified antecedents on behaviour.
An experimental hypothesis has several characters:
Must be synthetic statement
Testable
Falsifiable
Parsimonious
Fruitful
The process of reasoning from specific cases to more general principles
Induction
It is the process of reason- ing from general principles to predictions about specific instances
Deduction
the knack of finding things that are not be- ing sought
Serendipity
A statement that is always true
Analytical Statement
statement that is always false.
Contradictory Statement
Beginning section of a research report that guides the reader toward your research hy- pothesis; includes a selective review of relevant, recent research
Introduction
The development of ideas from hunches; knowing directly without reasoning from objective data
Intuition
Statistical reviewing procedure that uses data from similar studies to summarize
Meta- analysis
