Q

what happens when patients with AD are given small pox vaccination?

A

Eczema vaccinatum - very similar to eczema herpeticum
in patients with AD, vaccination is contraindicated unless there is a clear risk of smallpox
In addition, decisions regarding vaccination of family members should take into consideration the potential of eczema vaccinatum in household contacts
