Decreases angle between bones
Extension
Increases angle between bones
Abduction
Moves part away from median plane
Adduction
Moves part towards median plane
Circumduction
Moves part so distal end moves in a circle
Rotation
Pivoting a bone on its own axis
Pronation
Twists forearm moving palm so thumb points medially (would spill soup)
Supination
Twists forearm moving palm so thumb points laterally (wouldn’t spill soup)
Inversion
Turns sole of foot inwards
Eversion
Turns sole of foot outwards
