In marriage:
=>is expressed, not felt!! choice, faithfulness, person (embodied by Jesus)

In covenant:
=> expressed through obedience and worship
(in OT nobody ever says “I love God”: couldn’t bring themselves to? never perfectly obeyed covenant vows)

Covenant w/ Creation

A

divine relationship established with the entire creation, as represented by Adam
=>Adam had kingly and mediatorial role (fill and subdue): he was to expand the sanctuary rest of God to all the earth
=>then rest of the covenants are subsets to restore this original purpose

A

Uses Noah as “new Adam”: in Gen 9 tells him to be fruitful and multiply, fill the Earth an subdue it

A

Promise of a land, blessing, and seed, and all nations would be blessed in him. all he had to do was “go and be”

Sign of covenant was circumcision, reminding Abraham of promise of many offspring
