Q

Steep Turns

A
  1. Perform clearing turns
    2.Flow check
    3.Airspeed Below VA 97 knots
  2. Roll into 45 degree bank
5.Maintain altitude and airspeed (passing 30 degrees of bank, increase back pressure and add 100-200 RPM)
  3. Begin rollout prior to 20 degrees prior to entry heading ( passing 30 degrees of bank, decrease back pressure and reduce power to entry power setting.)
  4. Stabilize at entry heading, altitude, and airspeed.
  5. Enter steep turn opposite side.

Q

Power-on Stall
(Simulates stall on departure)

A
  1. Perform clearing turns
  2. Flow check
  3. Reduce power to 1500 RPM, Carb heat on, maintain altitude (Increase back pressure)
  4. At 55 KIAS, simultaneously increase pitch and apply full power, carb hear off.
  5. Stabilize in climb at 55 KIAS
  6. Increase pitch to induce stall.
  7. RECOVERY: Decrease AOA, establish climb at 59 KIAS
  8. Level-off at cruise altitude and establish cruise configuration.

Q

Power-off Stall (Simulates stall on approach)

A
  1. Perform clearings turns
  2. Flow check
  3. Reduce power to 1500 RPM, carb heat on, maintain altitude (increase back pressure)
  4. Flaps 10 at 75 KIAS
  5. Flaps 20 at 70 KIAS
  6. Flaps down at 65 KIAS
  7. Stabilized in a descent at 65 KIAS
  8. Once stabilized, throttle idle and pitch up to induce stall.
  9. RECOVERY: Reduce AOA, full power, carb heat off, flaps 20 degrees.
  10. Accelerate to 59 KIAS, positive rate, flaps 10
  11. Positive rate, flaps up
  12. Level-off at cruise altitude and establish cruise configuration.

Q

Slow Flight

A
  1. Perform clearing turns
  2. Flow check
  3. Reduce power to 1500 RPM, carb heat on, maintain altitude (Increase back pressure)
  4. Flaps 10 at 75
  5. Flaps 20 at 70
  6. Flaps 30 at 65
  7. Approaching 50-55 KIAS, increase power to approx. 1800 RPM
  8. Slow to first stall indication, then maintain 5-10 knots above that speed.
  9. Power to maintain altitude
  10. Pitch to maintain airspeed.
  11. Use standard rate turns, approx. 15 degrees bank
  12. RECOVERY: Full power, carb heart off, maintain altitude, reduce flaps as airspeed increases.
  13. Flaps up at safe speed
  14. Establish cruise configuration.
