Q

Inappropriate conflation of postmodernism with qualitative

A

During the same error that radical, relativistic postmodernist, began attacking the promotion of positivistic calls for a better controlled outcome, evaluations of practice effectiveness, other voices emerge to remind the profession that quantitative inquiry is not the only way to make social work scientific.

What EBP is?

A

EBP involves the following 5 steps:

  1. Convert your practice problem into an answerable question.
  2. Locate the best available evidence with which to answer that question.
  3. Together with your client, critically appraise the evidence.
  4. Use your clinical judgment and your client’s preferences to apply that evidence to the present circumstances.
  5. Evaluate the performance of your intervention according to the objective you and your client had set out.
