To pass laws without the consent of the Reichstag.

Q

What were the causes of the Night of the Long Knives?

A

Hitler feared that Rohm was becoming too powerful and was a threat to him.

The SA was bigger than the army, unruly and loyal to Rohm.

Rohm was aggressive and drank heavily. He was hated by many other important Nazis.

Rohm wanted the revolution to continue. Hitler did not.

A

Stormtroopers were used to intimidate voters at polling stations.
