What is the first loop of the CVS?

A

The first loop leads from the heart to the lungs. Here, the blood releases CO2, picks up O2, and returns to the heart.

What is the second loop of the CVS?

A

The second loop goes to the rest of the body, delivering O2 and nutrients and picking up waste.

What is the atrium and what is its function?

A

Smaller chambers on top of the heart that receive the blood entering the heart. Electrical impulses, aka the “pacemaker” then move the blood to the ventricles.
