The altimeter setting region encompasses all low-level airspace within the Southern Domestic Airspace (SDA)

All aircraft operating in this region must set their altimeter to the altimeter setting of the station nearest to the aircraft

Standard Pressure Region

All low-level airspace in the norther domestic airspace (NDA) as well as all high level airspace in both the NDA and the southern domestic airspace (SDA) is within the standard pressure region

In this area, the aircraft altimeter must be set to the standard pressure of 29.92 inches of mercury or 1013.2 hectopascals

In the standard pressure region, the term FLIGHT LEVEL is used instead of ALTITUTDE

Flight level is always expressed in hundreds of feet. Eg, FL230 is 23000 feet
