Q

Power

A

An expression written with a base and an exponent. Additionally, the exponent in a power is sometimes referred to as a power. The exponent indicates the number of times that the base is multiplied with itself. For example, 2^4 is a power where 2 is the base and 4 is the exponent. 2^4 = 2 · 2 · 2 · 2

Q

Order of Operations

A

When simplifying an expression that contains more than one operation, first simplify within parentheses. Next, simplify any powers. Then do multiplication and division from left to right. Finally, finish up with the addition and subtraction, again working from left to right.
