What hand do we grasp the personal harness hook with?

1.1 Grasp the personal harness hook with your left hand on the gate side and pull it free from its retention strap. Maintain control of the hook in left hand.

Where do we grasp the rope with the right hand?

Answer 2

1.2 Reach out with the right hand and grasp the rope at a point below the edge of the windowsill.
1.3 With your left hand holding the “gate” to the left,
place the solid part of the hook on top of the rope in
the right hand.

How many inches of slack do we pull forward through the right hand so we can take the four turns?

1.5 Using the left hand, grasp the rope coming from
above and pull approximately 12” of slack forward
through the right hand as it is holding the rope and
hook. This is to ensure there is adequate slack to
take the turns onto the hook.

When exiting feet first where should the rope be positioned in relation to the FF and the building?

2.2 Make sure harness hook clears the outer edge of the windowsill, and ensure that the rope from above is positioned on the left side of your head as you exit the window. The rope should be between you and the building.
