Galvanic Face Flashcards

1
Q

Galvanic current process by following devices:

A

The mains alternating-current at 240 V is converted into a smooth direct current up to 100 volts

  1. Transformer- reduces the voltage of the mains current

2.Rectifier m- changes, the current from alternating to direct

  1. Capacitor- smooths out any irregularities in the direct current

Q

How does it work?

A

Electrolytes are applied to the skin to increase its electrical conductivity

When dissolved in water and electrolyte, partly split in forms ions which carry either a positive charge (cation) or a negative charge (anion)

When the galvanic current is applied the irons within the solution start to move, they are attracted towards is a positive pole (anode) or negative pole (cathode)

Q

Benefits (4)

A
  1. Treatment for crepey neck- using negative because of its moisturising affect
  2. For scar tissue- using negative pole
  3. For enlarged pores using positive pole
  4. Depending on the gel applied, can help with any skin condition like dry oily etc.
