High rise development-Lack of community feel, poorly ventilated, expensive to heat, poorly designed open space-led to criminal activity,many demolished
Edge of city housing-Isolated from city centre and friends and family, needing to travel to find jobs leading to unemployment
Solutions inner city
•Existing tenements have been renovated instead of demolished. They are modernised with new windows, central heating, bathrooms etc
•High rise flats have been demolished and redevelopment has taken place on land e.g student accommodation
•Areas have been redeveloped (e.g sighthill) with new flats houses restaurants,offices and open green space
