Boots the operating system

Virtual version of a physical computer
Virtualization
The process of using software to create a virtual representation of various physical entities
User Interface
A program that allows users to control the functions of the OS
GUI (Graphical Interface)
Uses icons to manage different tasks on the computer
CLI (Command Line Interface)
A text-based user interface that uses commands to interact with the computer
