Drag Circle - A circle drawn from the actual anchor location with a radius equal to the length of the anchor chain veered plus the distance from the hawespipe to the pelorus.
Purpose - To ensure the anchor is not dragging.
Centered at the position of the anchor.
Radius = Distance from Hawsepipe to Pelorus +
Length of anchor chain

Swing Circle:
Definition - A circle drawn from the actual anchor location with a radius equal to the length of anchor chain veered plus the total length of the ship.
Purpose - To ensure the anchorage is hazard free.
Centered at the position of the anchor.
Radius= Length of ship + Length of anchor chain.
