Aseptic- free from contamination
Differences between Sterile and Aseptic technique
Sterile= totally free from microorgansims (not always possible so…)
Only environment which they can be used is operating theatre
Aseptic
Aims to prevent microorganisms being introduced to susceptible sites.

* surgical procedures
* Complex wound dressings
* Central line insertion
* Urinary catheter insertion
Standard ANTT
* Simple wound dressing
* Peripheral access insertion (IV)
* Accessing peripheral and central lines
* TPN administration
