What does ‘my best mate’ mean?
My best friend.
My best mate sent me a lovely card for my birthday.
What does ‘I’m over that now’ mean?
to have recovered from either a physical or emotional challenge.
He got divorced ten years ago and it took him a long time before he was over it and able to form new relationships.
I failed my driving test last week, and I was really disappointed for a couple of days. Now I am preparing for the new test. I am over it.
