mother for her emotional state following her husbands death?
she teels that her mother abandoned her when she became depressed and silent.
It is difficult for me to imagine the death of a loved one;
I’ve never experienced it. I imagine it must feel sad and scary for a child to lose a parent, also difficult for the mother to lose her husband and have to be a single parent. Who will help her take care of the children?
Though the mother was suffering from immobilizing sadness, leaving the children to their own fate, Kat feels that her mother should be able to control her sadness and take care of her children.
Katniss feels a little conflicted about her
relationship with her mother. Why?
On one hand, Kat loves her mother, on the other hand, she’s afraid to depend on her because she feels
abandoned.
