A
A property of the surface of a liquid that allows it to resist an external force; it appears to have thin elastic skin.

Force between water molecules

How is surface tension created (long answer, 3 marks or smthng)
A
Each water molecule is pulled equally in all directions by neighbouring molecules which results in a net force or zero. The molecules at the surface don’t have water molecules on all sides so they stick stronger to those next to them which creates a “skin” that behaves like an elastic membrane.
